worst pictures in the MLS contest

Inspired by temeculaguy's three car garage monitor, I have another idea that will justify my obsession with constantly reviewing MLS listings even though I won't be buying any time soon.

What has shocked me is just how bad some MLS pictures are. Agents- make me want to come to the house! We assume that you are putting the house's best features in the pictures. I don't want to see dirty dishes. I don't want to see eight pictures of the same room. I don't want to see pictures of the current owners pets.

So I think we need to start the "worst of the MLS" contest. I do think we should cut some slack to low price listings and smaller older condos, where there is not much any photographer could do.
The true "worst" are the mid to high end listings showing features that actually drive me away from the home. Like the kitchen picture in my nominee. .

These are the best they could do on a $1.1-1.2m listing of a near new home?

This one has it all, nighttime shot of the house, closeup of the toilet, and clutter everywhere

This isn't necessarily a Worst of the MLS entry, but I didn't know where else to put it. Just scroll through the pics... you'll know what I mean.

LOLOLOL Remarkably high ceilings! I think the first 2 pics are deceptive.

Those are some nice built-ins. Nice center island there in the kitchen. They definitely did not go cheap on the countertops and splashback.

Clearly, they're praying it will sell at that price.

Looks like they're living in the front yard and not the house!

The thread that keeps on giving. I think the electrical tower had a detrimental static effect on the photos of this house.

Why would someone choose to show a snake in every one of their pool pictures?

Um... is that an outhouse next to the patio?

I guess this house in Carmel Valley only comes with the front door and a Gazebo in back. At least, that's all that's pictured outside.

I am biased, but I found the California postings to be a good place to start. Enjoy!

I like the graffiti in the house. Way to mark your territory! The drunk in the tub is a nice one, too.

Thanks for the lovely listings!

On a side note, my wife and I went to look at a short sale house a few days ago here in OC. The agent told us they had tenants. She didn't say they were complete slobs. Dirty dishes everywhere, dirty clothes all over the bedrooms, a sleeping bag on the couch, and stinky shoes all over. Great job! Just what I always wanted, a pig sty. The property is now pending sale. What are people thinking???

OK, maybe taking a picture of the house in deep shadow isn't that uncommon, nor is making that one the picture that shows on the listing. But what is the deal with the second picture of the window?

The realtor might as well have put a caption that says: "Tenth of a million dollar views". Come to think of it, the window is probably the biggest selling point for that property.

Here's a listing with photos that look like they were done by Bob Guccione, ca. 1981:

I think they should have used the tarp from the chair to cover the couch. Look at the dust on the carpet. Also the fancy lamp stand and shade!

For that kind of money you think they would clean up the garbage cans in the backyard and garbage pile and cardboard boxes.

Love this one. Are they trying to sell the house or have it condemned?
