worst pictures in the MLS contest

Inspired by temeculaguy's three car garage monitor, I have another idea that will justify my obsession with constantly reviewing MLS listings even though I won't be buying any time soon.

What has shocked me is just how bad some MLS pictures are. Agents- make me want to come to the house! We assume that you are putting the house's best features in the pictures. I don't want to see dirty dishes. I don't want to see eight pictures of the same room. I don't want to see pictures of the current owners pets.

So I think we need to start the "worst of the MLS" contest. I do think we should cut some slack to low price listings and smaller older condos, where there is not much any photographer could do.
The true "worst" are the mid to high end listings showing features that actually drive me away from the home. Like the kitchen picture in my nominee. .

These are the best they could do on a $1.1-1.2m listing of a near new home?

I have just been mesmerized by the most amazing set of pictures a Realtor could possibly take in order to sale someones house fast ...and I MEAN FAST!! So fast he drove by while taking the MLS pictures..

That's what happens when you let the cow play on the trampoline.

Realtor didn't get out of his/her car to take the picture; this is Santa Ana, after all. Drive by shooting.

Note the purchased price near the middle of the page, just below the map.

Jul 24, 2006 Sold $600,000 18.3%/yr

Are they selling the sunset or a home?

Submitted by Kilohana on January 15, 2009 - 11:45am.

Why, oh why would this be included on the MLS? (pic 5) http://www.sdlookup.com/Pictures-0800786...

It could be nothing, but to the casual viewer, it looks to me that someone or something was bludgeoned underneath the kitchen sink.

:shudder:

How about this pic in clairemont?

Yikes! That pic makes me feel like I'm casing the joint for a future burglary. Creepy!

How about these two "gems":

A "fixer-upper" investment property (can't believe it went for $358k...):

This one comes with a free car parked in the backyard:

I'm not entirely sure what's shown in the picture, but I have a feeling that it's sideways.

Nice car, why would you take a pic of that? Maybe so people know what to expect when they get there?

Are those bad areas those properties are in?

Well, depends if you consider Clairemont "bad":

Also, notice the choice of magazines in the bathroom: Rifleman :)

I don't know about you, but I was actually *relieved* to see that those magazines were just "Rifleman" and not....yanno....exotic. ;)

Hmmm. I would have prefered exotic to Rifleman! I'm a love not war typa guy. Though I do own my share of guns.

Okay, you're right. It would have been awesome to see a giant pile of Juggs on the bathroom counter next to the empty kleenex box. We would have had to close the thread - there is no possible way to top that. ;) I love this thread so much!
