worst pictures in the MLS contest

Inspired by temeculaguy's three car garage monitor, I have another idea that will justify my obsession with constantly reviewing MLS listings even though I won't be buying any time soon.

What has shocked me is just how bad some MLS pictures are. Agents- make me want to come to the house! We assume that you are putting the house's best features in the pictures. I don't want to see dirty dishes. I don't want to see eight pictures of the same room. I don't want to see pictures of the current owners pets.

So I think we need to start the "worst of the MLS" contest. I do think we should cut some slack to low price listings and smaller older condos, where there is not much any photographer could do.
The true "worst" are the mid to high end listings showing features that actually drive me away from the home. Like the kitchen picture in my nominee. .

These are the best they could do on a $1.1-1.2m listing of a near new home?

Saw this one this morning...check out the picture of the rock-star bed room...who has time for making a bed on the way to becoming a "rock icon?!"

Love the poster, too.

This seems like a pretty nice place, but what's with the photos. Is it really that hard to take a decent photo. I think I can dig up an old Polaroid that will take a better photo. Sad. If I were a realtor, I'd be embarrassed by the ones pretending to be professional. http://www.sdlookup.com/Photos.aspx?plid...

Look look, it has a backyard!

I mean atleast dress up the back yard if that is your selling point. Paint the back fence, water the grass, trim a tree. Makes you wonder.

DWCAP, the owners are lazy and they don't give a sh!t.

"REO/bank owned. This place needs a lot of work. Contractors special. Built in 1926, been remolded over the years. Being sold as-is. Be careful of stairs. Septic tank is next to right lot. May need new septic tank on own lot. Buyer to investigate all issues."

At least the pictures and the description are trying to warn just how bad the place really is - trying to imagine what flowery language could have been used...

"quaint cottage in the mountains within driving distance of the wonderful Inland Empire"

"two tone designer touches"

"flipper opportunity - don't miss out on this one!?

You definitely missed your calling: turning the truly ugly into an opportunity. You are a true marketer. I could not believe the blue paint. It is not rustic it is revolting.

probably not horrible pictures per se, but the
sizing is laughable.

Fit for a king and a queen.

...Property has a 5br home that was moved from la jolla and is sitting in 3 pieces...

That is priceless. I am surprised they did not call it a handyman special or some other specious description.

These aren't bad pictures per say, I'm just not sure they belong in the MLS, and I'm not sure the bear pictures really helps sell the house. Bears in Carmel Valley, who knew? The gnome is cute though.

Here's a beauty in Encinitas...only $800K!!!

Note the two trailers in the driveway, so they can't use the driveway or the garage. Gotta love the disco lights under the chartreuse-green kitchen cabinets!

Are they trying to sell the house or the furniture?

My first thought: "My, that's an ugly house".

My second thought: "Wait a minute, something is wrong. Where are the windows? Why does it feel flat, like a stage prop? And why is it so narrow for 2,942 sf?"

Bird's eye view cleared things up ...
