worst pictures in the MLS contest

Inspired by temeculaguy's three car garage monitor, I have another idea that will justify my obsession with constantly reviewing MLS listings even though I won't be buying any time soon.

What has shocked me is just how bad some MLS pictures are. Agents- make me want to come to the house! We assume that you are putting the house's best features in the pictures. I don't want to see dirty dishes. I don't want to see eight pictures of the same room. I don't want to see pictures of the current owners pets.

So I think we need to start the "worst of the MLS" contest. I do think we should cut some slack to low price listings and smaller older condos, where there is not much any photographer could do.
The true "worst" are the mid to high end listings showing features that actually drive me away from the home. Like the kitchen picture in my nominee. .

These are the best they could do on a $1.1-1.2m listing of a near new home?

That one should come with a warning from the surgeon general.

Wow. I felt like I was in a fun house for a minute there. Maybe carnies are owners of this dizzy box

This place is not ugly. Well, I can't tell. The outside looks ok. But explain the rest of the photographs.

Of course, it's priced to sell right now.

I guess I'll continue to keep this thread alive, since I keep coming upon photos that make you wonder.

WTH. http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-076089072-28...

Street photo is ok. The others need help. Must be a staging expert behind that camera.

I think we need one more shot of the front of the house.

If you scroll through the photos really fast, its like a real life moving picture.

LOL - What the ....

Gosh. Wish I had a better idea what the front of the house looked like.

I'm not sure if that house is big enough. Seriously, the freaking brady bunch would get lost in that.

This is cheating as I did not find it on the MLS, but I found this highly amusing and just had to share. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/rfs/6...

Well. At least the attic won't get too hot and you won't care if the roof leaks!!

Fixer? Ummmmmmm.....okay......if you say so

Submitted by Aecetia on March 19, 2008 - 8:07pm.

Definitely a fixer that has seen better times. Supposedly built in 1940.

The one with the freeway is too much. I like yours nostradamus, post remodel, including doubling the square footage. The risk of all sweat and no equity is a bother. It is a little rough there and the school question can come up for families but that is a really good location otherwise.

Gosh. That was bad. Why bother to put photos up. Trying to sell the place, not scare people away.

Gotta love the lazy weiner dogs who can't get their arses up on the couch alone so they're equipped with stairs. If your dog can't jump up on the couch, why is this a problem??

Man, I love this thread. That last post totally cracked me up.

Is someone trying to tell me I need to get a bigger monitor?

I have a weiner dog and that set of stairs. The reason I got it was so he wouldn't jump, this is bad for their backs. It doesn't work, he jumps anyway.

What cracked me up wasn't a picture but the following comment on this short sale.

...There is an uncooperative occupant who refuses to give access, and any sale will be subject to the rights of the current occupants(s) until lease ends in April, 2008. NOD has been filed.

I suppose that if I were a tenant and learned that a NOD had been filed on the property, the relationship with my landlord would probably get downright nasty.

At least the seller is being up front. Not sure how many folks are going to lay out a mil on something sight unseen, though.

How did someone decide these pictures were a good representation of the property? Some look like they were taken underwater and others look like they were taken through a fun house mirror.

Submitted by jimmyle on April 12, 2008 - 12:54pm.

they remind me of a ghost movie I watched a long time ago.

Especially that last picture. I didn't know you could make a trampoline look creepy.

Submitted by jimmyle on April 12, 2008 - 1:23pm.

A collection of bad mls pictures.

Submitted by svelte on April 12, 2008 - 4:08pm.

Cosmo, I bet you those were personal pics taken in the 70s by a cheap Kodak that were oddly cropped in order to remove the people in the pictures for MLS use. Real creepy result!

Jimmyle, that is unbelieveable! I scrolled down through those puppies and I laughed hysterically.

Look at April 4th!

Submitted by nostradamus on April 12, 2008 - 4:48pm.

jimmyle great find, that web site made me LMAO. I couldn't stop scrolling, there are so many!

Submitted by temeculaguy on April 13, 2008 - 1:04am.

Jimmy, awesome find, I'm still laughing I can hardly type. The one about the owners son on house arrest, you can see the monitoring bracelet on his ankle, omg that is the best.
