Hi,

Could you please tell me what type of grass I have. I need to pull up crabgrass and need to seed or sod the bare spots.

Thanks,

Looks like fescue and fescue will get crabgrass. I never had much luck using seed for the bare spots, sod replacement works better, but is three times the work.

If you can cut out a piece of it, take it to City Farmers Nursery. They will give you advice on what do to, depending on what you're doing

Looks like Tall Fescue:

Tall Fescue is a cool weather grass and does very well in coastal San Diego. Tall Fescue is easy to grow from seed if you start the process in the cooler months. I removed and re-seeded my entire lawn just after Labor Day. By Thanksgiving, my lawn was completely green.

Btw... Tall Fescue gets a little brown from heat stress in our summer months. Water it but do not fertilize it. If you fertilize it now, you'll just cause more stress and possibly kill it.

That's the greener grass. Your grass is greener. ;)
