I see a demographic shift here in Lake Forest. I have been living in this neighborhood for the last 3 yrs and each year I see more and more questionable type of people...I mean people resembling Hispanic gangmembers with shorts, tattoos etc. like the kind you would find in Santa Ana. I don't mean to be racist but I just wanted to be descriptive. This neighborhood used to be mostly educated professionals but lately I haven't been seeing many of those around.

Today I saw a Mexican vendor truck in my complex with blaring jingle type music and kids running after the truck, I thought I was in Santa Ana for a second!!

A few days back I THINK I heard a gunshot at about 1am and was quite terrified!

The rents are relatively high but I see many people stuffed into one apartment which is perhaps how they can afford to live here.

In case you forgot, non-hispanic whites are a minority in this state, and the percentage of hispanics keeps growing. Hispanics have twice the fertility rate of whites, and semi-transparent border isn't helping.

As time goes by, more and more formerly white areas turn latino, and eventually you'll only see small pockets of whites and asians (Carmel Valley) surrounded by Mexifornia.

To take Lake Forest as an example, in 1992, students enrolled in schools in your school district were 77% white, 11% hispanic. Today it's 63% white 24% hispanic.

This past weekend I saw a group of young males around 15-17 wearing the same clothes (in Temecula) - dark blue jeans with a white t-shirt - down the street from my house.

Does anyone know why they would all be dressed alike? Think about it....

Exurbs are becoming the new ganglands of CA. It's happening in NorCal as well.

I absolutely agree with the angle to this thread.

There is something very seriously wrong happening in our country, and a key aspect of it is the immigration issue.

It is reaching the point of No Return, because politicians are now afraid to even enforce the immigration laws due to the political weight of the numbers of Hispanics now in this country (illegal and otherwise).

Cops in many of our cities cannot even check if a someone caught committing a crime is an illegal immigrant.

Until we are allowed to have open discourse about the problems in this country, it's likely to get progressively worse.

The problem is **culture,** not race. But anytime people try to discuss it, the old race card gets pulled out and the names start flying around (racist, hater, xenophbe, etc.).

All of it is totally unproductive becase we (on all sides) are not allowed to discuss our experiences and feelings honestly.

Not saying there's an answer, but if everyone could at least hear each other's perspectives, we might come to some kind of understanding and start trying to work together to improve immigrant/native relations.

The one good thing about HOA's is Gangs don't like to live in HOA area's . Can't be cool if you can't work on your low rider on the street or have parties every other night.

Don't get me wrong, I still think HOA's are just a big waste of money and time/effort (basically you pay them to hassle you , thanks very much for the hassle -- here is another 70 dollars this month).
