I've been walking 4.5 miles a day. I'm inspired to walk more. I'm thinking 20 brisk miles a day! I could walk to work and back if I could do 20 miles. Figure 4.5 hours a day of walking. Eat during the walk.

The bicycling is too fast. Maybe the walk is better

The Wife and I have been taking fairly long walks (more like hikes in hilly terrain where we are) of about 2 or so miles since the lock-down (well when not raining at least).

Charles Dickens walked 20 miles a day!

I think most of us would feel better if we walked 4 or 5 hours a day.

You guys in Riverside county are now required to wear mask BTW.

San Diego County probably also soon.

Walking can get a bit boring after awhile.

We now have a dog, however, and that has made a world of difference. She keeps things interesting during the walk.

Yesterday she found a rabbit and would have caught it if it hadn't been for the leash.

Lots of dog walkers out there now. Everywhere! But people are good about keeping at least a 20 ft buffer between us. Doesn't feel risky to me at all.

I might feel better if you walked 4 or 5 hours a day, but I wouldn't feel better if I walked 4 or 5 hours a day.

I suspect we were designed to walk 5 or 10 miles a day

I'm doing the exact same thing here. I try to get the S.O. out walking with me, but no dice. I'm not eating while I walk, but I do make sure I do hills as part of the walk. I tend to do the walks when very few people are out, that way I am less likely to run into someone ill on the walk. I used to do quick Iron Mtn, Mt Woodson, or Laguna loop hikes on the weekends - but the trails have been closed.

It it a good way to stay generally healthy.

I do feel good. Not really interested in running nowadays. Just too pounding. Maybe it's a function of being old, but walking just feels like I could sustain this into old age. Just cruising along. My legs definitely are strengthening up in the ligaments, different than cycling.

I doubt idve serioudly gotten into walking if not for covid19.

I started my 4.5 mile hilly loop at a leisurely 90 minutes, tried to speed up, had a few slo daysand finally broke 60 minutes yesterday, no running, just super brisk walking, actually walking as fast as I could the whole way.... I'm not eating on this walk, I was just th9nking if I walk to work, say 2.5 h each way, I could eat a little meal each way...it would be awesome to be able to complete that some or all days

definitely a challenge and if i had run it, I'd probably need a day to recover, but with walking, I'm good to go the next day, which is super!

I dont feel like I could get injured, like I feel is possible running.

I believe in walking!
