If you’re remodeling and spending a lot money, look at german cabinets.
Don’t put in cheap American cabinets.

You should go look at the Home Depot design center showroom. They feature Hacker cabinets. Once you use German technology you will not got back.

Feel for 'ya man. Every spring same tension in our house. Everything becomes an emergency! Me, not so much...

I could live with one electric burner in the yard indefinitely. Or just a toaster oven.

In the summer, no heat required just v8 juice and bread.

And you wonder why your spouse might be a little upset about this??? Lol.

Home improvement/remodeling are always a source of contention, especially when a contractor doesn't complete things on time or to the expectations...People actually get divorces over this...I think it happened to one of my old neighbors of my old place. They bought the house, and then went through a major remodeling over the summer, and at the end of it they ended up putting the house on the market because they were splitting up.

It gets a little complex, but the stove alone is over 10k.

It's too bad you are over at Temecula because I have a couple of contractors that have cycles since things are slow that does flooring, cabinets, counters, and walls. I'm about to redo the flooring of a condo since I thought I would take advantage of the slowdown to get some deferred improvements I wanted to make eventually anyway, and since my tenant doesn't mind opening the doors and helping. (Why not, they get new flooring...But it would only take 1-2 days i think.

I don't think Nextdoor because you got a bunch of crazy people, but for finding contractors, it seems like it's ok. Have you tried there?

Remodeling a kitchen takes planning. I know, I just did one. It was not bueno. Lots of issues even with the material not matching, things not lining up. Didn't help I went with a made in china granite and had an installer that didn't bother to check the direction of the granite grain on the different pieces until after he already cut it.

Thankfully, it's a rental, not something I have to look at everyday, not that it looks *that* bad. At least it was cheap.

My other contractor hasn't called me back yet. I'll let you know.

Mold guys are the biggest scam. A simple fiber optics camera with a small drilled hole and a mold test kit is all you really need. You pay a shitload of money to hire a dry out service that basically cuts a hole in the wall and runs a bunch of heaters with a blower fan on them.

Scardey. My contractor doesn't want to go to Temecula for work. However, he has a friend in Vista that is closer and might be free and interested. When I find out, I'll send him his contact and you can screen him. I've never worked with his friend though.
