Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't there an easier way to format some of the text in any given post? Bold, italics, hyperlinking, etc. I thought there was a rich-text option at one point, but I seem to be missing it. I often would like to hyperlink sources or other items and inserting the tags is a pain in the ass.

You can use HTML tags, or use a web design application such as MS Front Page. Cut and paste the codes when posting. It takes more time than just typing into the Reply box but your post will look nice.

Perry- Thanks...I'll look into that. I thought a while back Rich mentioned something about the option to have a rich-text editor (reply box) when posting? I know that many other forums offer this and was wondering if Drupal, which is what this site uses, offers this as well.

Under the text box when you are creating content you should see a link to "enable rich-text." If you want to turn this on by default you can do it through your profile in "my account" on the left.

  1. Cool...Thanks.
  2. All this time and I never saw that!

Will someone please post specific directions for inserting a link so that people will only have to click on it?

I hope this gives you a general idea. Please forgive me for the blurry text. I took screen captures of Piggington, brought them into MS Word and added captions, and then I did more screen captures and saved them as .jpg files in MS Paint.

Thank you!  I'm going to test it out.
