This is my second year being a Pigg, even though I was far from being an active member, yet I consider myself lucky to benefit from this site and your continuous insightful input. Hence, Piggs ....here are some things we should all be thankful for:

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ...
You are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish some place ...
You are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ...
You are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...
You are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ...
You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married ...
You are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ...
You are blessed, because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ...
You are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore ...
You are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.
You are wished a Merry Christmas & Happy Holydays

Remember… throughout the year, be thankful for what you have been blessed with…

Yeah, well, I have always believed in the power of negative thinking and abhorred positive thinking.

It's not that great here. I'm grateful for what i have, but I'm not kidding myself. This country is no fun.

We are stressed out. we are unhappy. We are not starving but we're fatter than ever. We are eating and dreiving ourselves to death.

We're anxious.

No parent can ever relax. We all lvie in fear for our children. My parents used to not watch us liek hawks. We live in a culture of fear today. It is a violent, cruel, ccrazy, dangerous country. We lock each other up, including kids,a nd kill each other, legally and otherwise, at one of the highest rates int he world. it's a symptom of a sickness. It's not a sign of a free society. It's a sign of a mad society. we may not be broke, but we may be broken.

I'd rather have freedome from religion especially emanating from the governemtn, than the freedom to worship. Im not likely to get that anytime soon.

I'm grateful to be healthy. but I consider it justa lucky break in a sick society.

There is so much wealth, so inequitably distributed, with somuch pain, and so little organized response to human suffering in this society, that it should make us all feel ashamed.

I don't feel grateful. I feel sick to my stomach.

Drink Heavily.

You are watching too much TV and consuming too much Fox News. This country has troubles but we can fix the problems if we work together. Is there crime? Sure. Do bad things sometimes happen to kids? Of course. But you know what? That stuff happened when we were kids too but it wasn't broadcast 24/7 on MSNBCNN to every state in the nation when a kid got kidnapped or stuck down a well. Things were just as dangerous back then but people were less aware of it. Remember that people didn't used to wear seatbelts back then and they all smoked like chimneys!

Cheer up amigo, things aren't so bad!

Sheesh, speak for yourself publicdefender.

Thanks for the reminder, SD Transplant. Not only are my husband's parents still alive and married but so are his grandparents!! They just celebrated 67 years together.

hey, it's jesusmas, not thanksgiving. you're a month late. still... pure hearsay: 1/4 women/girls are molested or raped in the country. that's just terrible if true.

well, the world was probably pretty evil back then, but at least people weren't as hyper-alert. I don't even own a tv. i just live int he world and talk to humans and observe. i don't even listen to the radio. i see the local paper. we live in denial too. Everyone pretends to be ok. it's not ok. we are crazed.

except, actually in reality, y'know, I'm pretty happy. I kinda have a good time most of the time. Still, I hate pretending that everything's ok.

After reading a couple of the other threads I am thankful that I'm married to a wonderful woman who seems to be willing to put up with my faults. Just in the last week some of the comments on these threads have caused me to get up and go find her and tell her how much I appreciate her and appeal to her to please don't dump my ass. I have seen what lies out in the dating world and I am afraid, I'm very afraid.

publicdefender, I agree there is a lot of evil. But, we'd do good not to dwell on it. For what amount of good there is, and there is alot, I'm grateful for it.

publicdefender,
Paxil, Lexapro, Zoloft, Celexa, Prozac. Any of these might work well for you...and certainly would work better than alcohol, which is a heavy depressant.

Happy Holidays, but try to take a chill pill. Maybe it's your profession that is getting to you?

Every time I urinate, I'm thankful for what I have.

Two handfuls!
