Area suggestion and is it a good time to buy?User Forum Topic

Hello, A couple of months ago I had asked about renting as we were planning on moving but our company did not have a concrete WFH plan so we didn’t move. Now they seem to be coming around of making a permanent wfh possibly. This really peaked out interest but the inventory is low and sub 1mil home are far and few. We are a young family so looking for safe Neighbour hoods with good schools and shopping, parks etc and close to the beach. Don’t want it too far off I5 that it becomes too hot during summer. We have family in La Jolla so want to be about 30min away from them Would it be a good idea to buy a house even if we don’t move and can use it las a rental. This is scenario where next year our company decides to ask us to go Back to the office. I know we are all over the place. Or would it be wise to just rent for a couple months and see which areas we like since the rates are supposed to be low for a few years. On that note is $3.5k more realistic Airbnb monthly rent?

I don’t know the answer to many of your questions but Carlsbad is pretty good city in every front.
Love it up here but word of advice. This is not a market for wishy washy not sure what I want buyers. You really need a sharp focus to succeed these days
