Anyone watch "Real Estate Intervention"?

It's an HGTV reality show with this big, bald, Hitler-mustached realtor that goes around in his silver Bimmer shattering the delusions of sellers by touring sold comps with them. He has said one or two things that I disagree with, but for the most part he's very accurate with his valuations. The sellers are fun to watch, really stretching to find the tiniest imperfections in the comps - which are usually superior to their own houses.

It's a refreshing change from "My House is Worth What?" which is pure fiction acted out by the most morally and intellectually bankrupt realtors that the producers can find.

The perky Sabrina Soto co-stars, an HGTV regular who is not unpleasant to watch (my wife thinks she should be my first choice of TV-girlfriend, but then I'd have to break up with Lauren Graham). Set your DVRs.

My wife and I are addicted to "Real Estate Intervention". They should retitle it "Watch people lose money on their house." And what is up with that guy's moustache, anyway?

Another show we love is "Flipping Out". That guy is extremely talented as well as very crazy. Makes for fun viewing.

I love this show. It is crazy how people just can not wrap their heads around the fact that their homes aren't worth what they were in 2005 or 2006. It is fascinating to watch how some of these people, who are so out of touch with reality, react when he tries to set them straight. And of course most of them owe more on their homes than they paid for them because they HELOCed their way into the higher standard of living that they were entitled to regardless of whether they had the income to support it. I think the biggest tool so far was the guy in episode 1 and you have got to feel for his poor wife. She was completely embarrassed by his stubborn irrationality.

Love it. I watched one recently where the people had to pony up $60k at the closing to make the lender whole and avoid a hit to their credit. Finally, HGTV has at least one show that reflects reality.

One of the most annoying parts of HGTV shows is how they bring in a realtor to determine the pre and post value after making some improvements and they say 'you just made $25,000!!!'.

I couldn't believe my ears when I saw this. It was like Glen Beck caught reading Das Capital. I hope it does some good.

Big fan of the show as well. Provides good insight to how irrational sellers can be regarding the value of their home. I have a theory that people get used to their surroundings and tend to not notice the things that stick out to buyers. Things such as old carpet, cabinet doors that do not close all the way and stinky rooms.
