Option 5 should be "Who gives a flying fuck? I'd rather have a Bolt or Leaf."

GM isn't great, but neither GM or Nissan are under the delusion that they still own your car after you buy and pay for it. They don't have the same discriminatory policies against 3rd-party mechanics and parts sales to non-authorized people.

Teslas are OK cars (bit heavy on the tech/tracking crap, I'd rather have a SIMPLE electric car and be able to open the rear doors without power!), but their support for DIY people is abominable.

Tesla is a vanity brand like other vanity brands. Tesla does add technology.
We will see if the market is large enough for their ambitions.

I think they should stick to making luxury cars. Why sell for 35k when you can charge double?

So, so far nobody believes Elon Musk will have a $35k car available this year. The reason I started this poll is because the wife put $1000 down to be on the waiting list over 2 years ago and still cannot buy that $35k car. So did Elon lie or is it old school bait and switch?

Maybe Ford and Tesla should look into a "joint" venture. As the only 2 American car companies that have never gone through bankruptcy it might make "cents".
Let's see it could be called Fosla or Terd, probably the former. Reminds me of my favorite animal the Fossa from Madagascar, it has no natural predators and has been around a very long time.

For us it was between getting the long range with full tax incentive vs waiting for the 35K car with possibly no federal tax incentive. We decided the certainty of tax back and the bigger battery were worth it. Otoh if you can get a new model 3 at 25K net with the 220 mile battery that would easily be the best new car you could buy at that price point. Despite a misaligned C pillar and some paint bubbles
I would buy again- the motor and chassis are THAT good!

Neither really. It's always been Tesla's position that the more optioned out car would come out first, they never put a timeline on when the base model would be released.

If you look at it from a pure business position, why slow down production on the more expensive car for a cheaper one with less margin if the demand is still sky high?

Like housing. Why build affordable basic housing when there's high demand for "luxury".

I don't think we'll ever see a $35K Model 3. Unless they decontent it more, which I'm not sure is possible.

I don't think it's either. I think he actually believes the rubbish he says.

Twitter, half truths, random behavior. He's just another Trump.

1. Tesla will go bankrupt or bought out.
2. Fuel cell is the future, not full batteries powered vehicle.
3. Elon will remain a legendary billionaire.
